Eccentric bolts

Eibach alignment kit.

Another variation of alignment bolts.

Also known as crash bolts or camber bolts. An eccentric bolt has centers of head and body on different axis so that one is off-center in relation to the other. One of the most common uses is in suspension components of vehicles to perform camber alignment. On vehicles that are not equipped with essentric bolts, installation of aftermarket unit is required.

One reason camber can sometimes change is an increase or reduction in the vehicle weight. This lowers or raises the springs, which in turn change the suspension angles at which the vehicle was engineered to sit. Therefore alignment is usually best done the driver in the vehicle, to be as accurate as possible for actual driving conditions.

Following is one example product for the 2nd and 3rd generation Escorts and ZX2s.

SPC EZ Cam XR camber kits

The new EZ Cam(tm) XR is designed for non-slotted struts. It allows both positive and negative camber changes up to approximately 1.75 degrees (depending on vehicle) by replacing the upper O.E. strut/spindle bolt. This easy to use adjuster provides built-in adjustment over the life of a vehicle just by rotating the head of the bolt. Each kit contains two cam bolt assemblies, enough for both sides of the vehicle. No special tools or grinding is necessary for installation and use. Available from racinglab.com for $ 52.
