Cleaning faded headlights

Before & after.

This is a very Simple mod. Pick up you some Plastic Polish from your local Wal-Mart, AutoZone, or maybe a local retailer. It can be The Blue Magic Plastic Polish, or I’d suggest some Meguiar’s Cleaner and Polisher. Also, pick up some waxing/buffing pads. You can also use polishing compound as well as many other plastic polishing compounds. 99% of this is on the OUTSIDE of the headlamp, so there is no need to remove the headlight.

Wash your headlights, you don’t want to use this with dirty headlights, dirt/sand will scratch up your headlights, and make it worse!! Put a small amount of the plastic polish on the waxing pad and begin to “buff” the headlights in a circular fashion. This is very similar to waxing your car. You can also use an orbital buffer. Do this A LOT. The more you polish, the clearer the headlights will become (to an extent). I took mine off and polished it while I was watching a movie for a few nights. As you can see they came out great. You may need to add more to your pad, which is normal. You will notice its going to fog up your lights, this is normal, its just the polish on the lights. Use a clean pad to polish the lights and remove the blurry film it puts on the lights. I would wash it with a sponge after to make sure you gave gotten it all off. Don’t use anything that would scratch the lenses again. This would defeat the purpose.

Some products are a 1 step process, such as the Blue Magic polish. Others could be a cleaner and a polisher. Just follow the instructions on the bottle.
