The following is a compilation of various intake installations performed by Ford Escort members (mostly off of FEOA).
Madmatt - Zx2 intake modded to fit the SPI engine.
Supafly - 91 CRX Si with a 1.6 modded to fit on the SPI.
Supafly - Another CRX Si intake.

91sleeper - Using a straight intake pipe for a cold air intake, made possible with the use of a smaller battery.
Red97lxscort (Jason) - Prior to upgrading to a turbo, using Mitsubishi Eclipse Injen 2.5 in intake.
98projectscort - Custom cold air intake installation, through cutting a hole in the radiator support.

Alex - KKM Intake kit
Unfortunately no longer produced bykustomz.com, it is the best and most smooth flowing MAF adapter for Ford vehicles. Completely seamless and engineered specifically for each MAF. They offer a basic intake kit which replaces everything after the intake hose, allowing the bulky MAF housing to be eliminated.
Intake components
When installing a custom intake, the breather hose going to the air filter housing can be removed and capped. While the PCV hose going from the intake manifold to the PCV valve should be left alone. The PCV line going to the intake manifold right by the TB (Throttle Body) can be removed and replaced with a breather filter availabe at any auto parts store. The brake booster line go intake manifold should be left alone.
