Ford Escort control arm removal

Removal
- Raise and support the vehicle
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove the lug nuts.
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove the stabilizer bar link.
- Remove the front stabilizer bar end nut.
- Remove the front stabilizer bar end bolt.
- Remove the upper front stabilizer bar end retainer.
- Remove the front stabilizer bar end bushing above the front stabilizer bar.
- Remove the front stabilizer bar end bushing below the front stabilizer bar.
- Remove the front stabilizer bar spacer.
- Remove the front stabilizer bar end bushing above the front suspension lower arm.
- Remove the front stabilizer bar end bushing below the front suspension lower arm.
- Remove the lower front stabilizer bar end retainer.
- Remove the nut and the pinch bolt.
- Separate the front suspension lower ball joint from the front knuckle.
- Remove the front suspension lower arm pivot bolt.
- Remove the front suspension lower arm bolts and remove the lower arm.
Installation
- To install, mount suspension lower arm at the front and rear bushings.
- New fasteners must be used when old fasteners are loosened and/or removed. Do not tighten the bolt in this step.
- Install the suspension lower arm and the pinch bolt and nut.
- Install the front suspension lower arm bolts in the sequence indicated.
- Apply Threadlock 262 E2FZ-19544-B or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G351-A6 to the ball joint nut and pinch bolt threads.
- Tighten the front suspension lower arm pivot bolt.
- Install the stabilizer bar link.
- Install the lower front stabilizer bar end retainer.
- Install the front stabilizer bar end bushing below the front sub-frame.
- Install the front stabilizer bar end bushing above the front sub-frame.
- Install the front stabilizer bar spacer.
- Install the front stabilizer bar end bushing below the front stabilizer bar.
- Install the front stabilizer bar end bushing above the front stabilizer bar.
- Install the upper front stabilizer bar end retainer.
- Install the front stabilizer bar end bolt.
- Install the front stabilizer bar end nut.
- Tighten the front stabilizer bar link nuts so that 17-19 mm (0.67-0.75 in) of thread is exposed.
- Install the wheel and tire assembly.
- Position the tire and wheel assembly.
- Install the lug nuts and lower the vehicle.
- Tighten the lug nuts.
