From the years of 95-97, Ford Contours and Mercury Mystiques came with heated mirrors. The option was enabled by activating the defrost for the rear wind shield. Models produced in 97 only included the option in certain trim levels. Starting from 98, the option was removed completely for cost savings.

Rear dome lights were also an option on the Mercury Mystique, until the year 2000. The rear dome light were also dropped, along with the puddle lights on the front doors.
